The thin air makes me nervous about overloading the fox so I'm going to do this:

I dont think I would chose a fox for that, I like the fox but it's small wings make it more like a flying jet plane and will probably not be well suited for thin air..
I would go for the new Multiplex Merlin, not as small as the Fox but smaller than Easystar,
and It would be easier to get a better wing loading on that plane.
When using two ESC like this, do you have to pull out one power line from one esc to the Y that goes to the receiver, or can I count on the two ESC adding their amps together to power the three servos and the receiver?

Yes your first thoughts were right, you have to pull out one power line (red)!
If you use 2 ESC togehter you will get some problems Wink
I am using an external BEC powered by one 2s lipo!
