I'm looking for a good camera to mount on my plane. Looking for a camera that has it's own battery, since I won't be attaching any FPV equipment on it. Thanks

Well that depends on your budget. If you can afford one you can't go wrong with a GoPro HD. They are self contained, waterproof, record great video, record in HD, can be modified to use for FPV if you decide to get into FPV flight. It is easy to use, used worldwide and is small enough to fit in your pocket and are very durable. GoPro HD is probably your best option.
