Heiko, the LED strips are from ledshoppe.com. they're not too expensive ($9 for 60cm) and simple, just "peel'n'stick" it to the wing and connect it to a 3s battery.
They just have two disadvantages: Different colors have different brightnesses (green is darker than red), and brightness decreases relatively strong if the battery's voltage drops at the end of flight. But if you have a regulated 12 output then this won't be a problem.
If you want to i can make a photo of the installation...
