I'm wondering if there is a plane (or air frame) out there that can fly well fast (Funjet) and very slow (Easystar), be nimble enough to do barrel rolls and loops but still able to carry a payload of FPV equipment?

This thread caught my attention:

I really like the looks of their airframes.
DIY Drones has a bunch of great ideas as well.
I'd go with a flying wing. Definitely what you are looking for. Size is up to you. Big Grin
Look in the 60 inch flying wings. Like the Zephyr or the grim reaper. You could also think about the Maxi swift.
Wings are fun but watch out for the tip stalls, other than that, as long as your wing loading is reasonable you should do well, go bigger instead of smaller!
I have been very satisfied with my Stryker for FPV, and it does not tip stall. I can hold the nose up during approach and bleed off airspeed, it looks almost like the space shuttle! Some flying wings do better than others, and I was a huge fan of the original Zagi back in the day ( I used to fly mine with a speed 400 and an 8 cell 600 mAh nicad pack!), but I have been very impressed with the Stryker's flight performance since they first came out. My FPV stryker is actually a first gen, bought as replacement parts and outfitted with my own gear about 6 or 7 years ago... (only FPV for the last year)

I agree with the wing comment and would add that a flying wing with a fuse is a logical choice. This design has a huge speed range and wont tip stall. Seriously!
As for the topic "A plane that does everything?", I really think that is near impossible. I'm a snowboard instructor, and to choose or design one board or pair of skis that does it all 100% efficiently is not going to happen. One can only choose their own balance of compromises. FPVicious as an example, goes slower and faster than the easy star, but its not as fast as the fun jet. If it was possible to get more pitch speed /power out of it without adding any more weight it would be nice but there's always a compromise somewhere. Take all the parameters and grade them on their importance to you, and choose something that BEST fits what you want....and then try to make it better,,,that's all you can do! IMHO. Scotty.

Heres the shizle!!

Here's the thread.
We are running an interesting project on FPV-Community.de!
Our members and the company Bormatec are developing the perfect FPV plane.
The first draft was a flying wing with fuselage, but this idea was not succesful...
No they are trying a convetional design with pusher prob and a lot of space.

I'll keep you updated about the status!

Best regards
Heiko
I want this "perfect" FPV plane. How is it coming along Heiko? Any pics?
If you already have FPV skills why not think about a Funjet? It's a wonderfull plane and it glides quite well.
Since it's climbing rates are very high, I get flight times of >15min with a motor-on time of about 2min.
And it's qite fast >35km/h while gliding, ~150km/h on motor at 100%.

Since I've got it, I haven't used my Easy Glider anymore.

Best regards

Hi Peter
I may have "some" FPV skills, but with a quadcopter not a fixed wing. I'll do some research on them. I've seen a couple of FPV funjet videos, they look fast and crazy fun!
Are there any cons?
