Post fpv crash vids here! Smile

Vid is uploading as we speak, hang on for link Wink

The tree is 18m tall

Video 5081413 on Vimeo.

ugh this looks relay bad!did the electronic survived the crash?

Lost video because of a reverse SMA antenna on the vtx (without the pin)
All electronics survived , but one week later I crashed it againg trying to roll at a too low altitude and that time i killed my aiptek camera Sad .
Aftermath:

Lost cam and video tx and pan/tilt + need new plane (damaged wings/connectors to wings and lost elevator

Well, after viewing the video over and over again ive come to this conclusion on why the plane went down, and what could have been done to prevent this.

Why
1. Sun in my goggles/cam kx191h - Had problems seeing any contours on the ground, everything was kind of meshed into each other. Didnt get good enough picture to identify clues/marks on ground. (easier to look at the vid after the crash, but much worse in real life)

2. Spotters/Sun reflecting picture on laptop - Spotters was looking in the air instead of standing glued infront of the laptop, when I lost my bearings both he and she looked at the laptop, but couldnt quite see where i was. They tried to turn the patchantenna right, but it was to little to late, the plane had already gone to far right. misscalculated the degree, plane was 20-30 degrees more to the right

3. High voltage wires just behind take off point, 20 m behind

4. Near road, some traffic from time to time, stressful and caused some interference when passing infront of antenna

5. Pilot - not high enough on last part. Got to excited.

How to prevent

1. Get another cam
2. settings on goggles, brightness/contrast
3. get a blanked etc over pilots head(used cap)
4. something to screen laptop(had a tv with me, but forgot the scart input at home)
5. Get a spotter that is familiar with rc and flying, and of course paying good attention to your costly gear.
6. OSD, GPS, Antenna Tracker!!
7. Longer antenna wire RX on plane
8. Stay high
9. Have a map near by for spotter
10. Always have video recording( I did, and it saved me quite abit of cash because i found my plane though all odds was against me)
11. Stay away from nearby traffic and electrical wires
A month ago I startet a very similar thread: http://fpv-community.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=16

.. if it's not only the vids. Smile
Didnt see that one.

This thread will be dedicated to crash vids Smile

That has to be one of the best saves/recoveries ive ever seen. Very nicely done Smile Good to see you bring your plane home safe Smile

Thank you very much!!! You can believe my heart beats with 250bpm at the moment I lost the video signal and with 300bpm at the moment I get back the video signal and saw the water and the Trees in front of me.
I hope for all of you that you'll never have to experience something like that.
