Man this is awesome! I've *almost* ordered the parafoil from HK a couple of times already, and keep passing it up b/c I know nothing about setting one up. I'd love to build one like in the first post! That's amazing!
Yeah! I too have no experience with paragliders...
But I'm sure, that here are other guys who can help us

Paragliders are really nice and easy to fly and a joy to look at. But as someone already mentioned they require quite calm days and the swaying of the gondola is a problem.
Actually a Graupner Skysurfer was my first introduction to the rc world several years ago. I flew it some and then forgot it. Found and reflew it this summer until the stock 370 motor burned out - lasted quite a few flights! Loaded it with my cellphone and then later a keychain cam and thats how I found out how much it swayed. This is a quite small paraglider though, about 1.2 m. There is a guy in the US manufacturing gondolas from fiberglass and selling complete with canopys, quite reasonably priced. Can't find the link though.
Hi there!
I just found a picture of the new Hobbyking Paraglider Gondola! Check it out:

For FPV that needs to be double the size! You need a good 3m canopy or more!
i would recomend buying a Power kite, and then adding an extra 1inch to the front line (A lines) and removing the same ammount from the Brake lines, you wwant the wing to pitch slightly forward, and under power it lifts and not stalls!
Sounds like you are a kite pro, Cosha

Yes, i have had a few :-)
