Hello!

Today Hobbyking has sent around his newsletter.
The Paraglider Parafoil 2.15m caught my eye Big Grin
The price is very fair and the quality looks good, too!

I'm really interested in a paraglider as FPV platform, because of its flight charateristic, payload and size of such an aircraft.

On French FPV Meeting a pilot (I think he is a member of FPV-COomunity.com Wink ) took off with a beautiful paraglider.

What do you think about paragliders as fpv platform? Where can I buy gondolas or do I have to build my own?
Can't wait to read your comments Smile

Greetings

I saw that email as well and have been wondering how hard it would be to put together a paraglider FPV model. I suspect that it would be really easy to build a nice frame if you have some welding ability. I may try to make a frame using some solder and see how it turns out before buying the canopy.

In the mean time, have a look at this site for a nice looking gondola.

Thx for the link, lovegroove.
Hope that Hobbyking will add a gondola to his shop Wink
OK, I've decided that I have to have one of these while they are at this silly price. I've been watching some youtube videos and have decided that I want to build a paraglider without motor like the one in this video.

Any ideas on the weight of the model or how it's controlled?

Hi Loovegroove!
Do you know where to buy a gondola or this glider puppet?
Hey guy's, I just found this thread by doing a Google search to find out some info on that HobbyKing parafoil they sell. Don't know if you noticed but my first FPV platform is a 1980's Paraplane Sport. My friend and I both bought one back in 1985 and we dug them out and upgraded them with brushless motors and lipo power. I just installed a ET OSD Pro but haven't put it in the air yet. I knew I wasn't gonna win the video contest so I broke down and got me one. All my FPV video's so far are with the Paraplane Sport. Here's some video of my friends flying and my few FPV videos so far. I am still new to FPV but been flying R/C sense 1976.

I have looked at one of these today & 2 things came to mind

1)Not really suited to winds above 1 -5 mph.....would only give me about 3 flying days per year!!!!

2)They sway to much to take high quality video

Thanks for your opinion, Ross Smile
Hmm, I'm not completely sure if I should buy the airfoil from HobbyKing...
