RE: Simple OSD XL edition questions
According to Melih, new SimpleOSD version has different bootloader than older versions had and there is no more problems with flashing firmware. Unfortunately, we've got older versions, so it's sometimes a test of patience... What you had to is to flash any version, exactly as BlueAngel did. Then you should be able to (correctly) flash any (other) version of firmware. It's possible that Flytron will release a new, very short "service" firmware just for the problems with older SOSD versions. It will be flashed very fast (so with small error probability) and will only allow to flash another firmware, with some diagnostic message. Until then, best way to flashing is:

1) Connect all to the OSD but USB cable and power it on
2) When it's working, prepare flashing on PC and attach USB cable
3) Star flashing on PC, it will display message something like "waiting for device"...
4) Press and holt button on OSD. OSD will reboot and stars to flash.
5) When flashing is done, remove USB cable. OSD should boot up with new firmware version
6) Then you can disconnect battery

So never connect USB cable when OSD is not running. Only when OSD is not responding and you have to use emergency flash procedure (connect cable, prepare PC to flash and attach battery to OSD).

PS: I'm sorry, it looks like written by drunken sailer, but it's too hot here for my english :-D

RE: Simple OSD XL edition questions
Hello,

Did anybody get the telemetry tool to work with google earth?

The tool from Flytron works, I installed the plugin in Google Earth but I got no connection. I get a single location fix which is about 30km away from my position and thats it.

Has anybody some hints or maybe a HowTo?

Best regards
Peter
