I hope you all have a lovely holiday, and enjoyed bringing in 2012!

Its now full on build season for most of us as the weather locally to me is horrid ( 80+ Mph winds and vertical rain) but I managed to get my new mini workshop 90% complete in-between eating lots of chocolates, drinking over the festive season and visiting family members!

We hope 2012 will be a great year for us here too; we have a lot of things to finish off!

Hopefully some of us got some great flying goodies!

Dear All members Of the FPV-Community.com

In the next 6-12 months you are going to see some big changes made here on the forum.
The FPV-Community.de is ticking along quite nicely, so much so, its taking a lot of our time up. After some lengthy discussions, meetings and video conferences’ with the team leaders. It has been decided that there are a few holes in our management team.

More specifically on the FPV-Community.com portion of our forum.

Firstly, we have a lot of spamming Bots and Trollers that are registering through our sign up procedure, and posting irrelevant information, and blocking up some of our threads. Although these spammers are not malicious, nor carry any risk to our members, its important that we keep reporting these people to the moderation team.

You can Report a thread at anytime, a moderator will review it at soon as one comes online, and deal with the issues arising. Banning and blocking the IP address is all we have the power to do with the MyBB Group forum structure this will keep repeat offenders at bay.

We are looking to upgrade a few things in the near future, so please keep an eye out for updates to follow.

During our meetings we have decided we needed a dedicated manager for the Community.Com forum, a native English speaking person, and someone we can fully trust to look after the members in our absence.

It was a group decision that Ben (Member name Cosha) would be asked if he wanted to join and fulfil this role. We then decided to have an audio conference to see if Ben would like to join the team and have a more involved part in the Forum. Ben has shown his excitement and has agreed to step in as the manager.

Ben expressed that he has been away from FPV for over a year (Due to family commitments). And we touched base on how well the other moderators have done in his absence. Ben is a great guy to have around the forum, he has been on the forum since day one, his loyalty and commitment to our project is outstanding and we are all happy his has agreed to join us.

So please congratulate and welcome Ben again back to the forums!

Another thing that was brought up was inactive members. Although many people have signed up to the forum, not all of them are active in posting there information and projects. This is understandable, people move from the hobby, have less spare time or will often sit back and just read threads. This is no problem, we have quite a few new members who are new to this hobby, and we kindly ask that all members continue to help out where they can and guide the new comers to be successful in FPV

Our mission goal is still the same, we are a Community of people that express the same interest, and we like the family feel here, so please continue to keep this up. We congratulate all members keeping this forum friendly and supportive of each other!

Hello all fans and participants of our "FPV-Video of the Month"-video competition,

Let me tell you guys some words for the next video competitions:

We decided to start 4 video competitions per year, because we figured out, even based on your feedback to us, that the time between two HD or SD video competition is far too short to create a new awesome video on some unique flying areas.
Therefore we will start both, a HD and SD competition, each quarter of a year.
What the benefit for you?
The longer time between the events gives us more time to organize high quality prizes for you
Next benefit: The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will get these prizes!
All in all, there will be waiting 6 prizes for you each quarter!

Ok, let's see: The next participation threads (HD and SD at the same time) for the 2nd quarter of 2011 will be published in the beginning of June.

You are allowed to participate with 2 videos, one in SD-quality and one in HD-quality

Please let us know you feedback about that new way to go!

First off, we'd like to thank you for all the feedback regarding our website features we received from you.
About a year after our initial launch we decided to modify one of the most vital parts of the page: The forum structure.
Many of you were used to a display mode where all threads are in one list, sorted by last post. The FPV-community forums divide into different categories before showing you a thread list of a specific category.
This structure worked very well on the German forums so we didn’t think this would cause any trouble here either.

However, your feedback showed that a lot of you actually prefer to have all threads in one list.

That's a good enough reason for us to get working!

We’re proud to present to you our newest and one of the most demanded features: The Threadlist-view

To use this new feature just look at your user box in the upper half of the page and find the link “Thread View”. By clicking „set as default“ you will set the current view as default and it will show up each time you visit the forums.

The great thing about this new view mode is that all old categories are still existent and used. You can view all individual categories without switching the mode.
Our beta testers have found it to be very comfortable the way it is now.

Hey!

We've recently acquired a cutter plotter. What a plotter basically does, is cutting shapes like letters or symbols out of special vinyl foil.
Using our new amazing device, we can now make our own stickers. Here's two pictures of our first test.

Looks good and sticks to about everything.
We're currently working on a page where you can order all kinds of stickers. Members can also order custom, personalized stickers.

To get everything started, we're gonna send out a bunch of stickers to winners of the "FPV-Video of the Month" contest.

Ladies and Gentleman, we have some exciting news to bring you!
We have enlisted a member of the community, to become a moderator!
We feel now that the community is growing stronger, we need someone who has been a huge help behind the scenes since day one to join our team!

Without further a due, we would like to Congratulate the forum member, Cosha, to be our first Moderator to join our team!
Cosha, Ben Smith, has always been around behind the scenes from day one! He has always reassured us when we had a few teething problems, that everything will be ok!
Not only that, he has spread the news of the community, worldwide off his own back! Cosha has always pointed us towards interesting new ideas, and always been honest to us!
Because of his honesty, and dedicated hard work he has put it to helping all of us at some point, we naturally have chosen him to join us!

That's right; congratulations all, we have just recently had our 200th user join us!
As you have all noticed, we are growing in size and the community is growing with so much information! Recently we have had such good feedback about all our users being helpful, polite, friendly and involved in every project!
